Our trustees are from a wide range of career backgrounds. Their many skills and expertise help us keep offering the best possible care and support to children and families that need it. Nicola Didlock- Chair of Trustees Nicola has worked in the third sector for more than 25 years in national and local social care charities. She is currently CEO of a charity supporting those formerly employed in the coal industry. "Supporting children with life-limiting illnesses is so very valuable, and I feel hugely privileged to contribute to that." Louise Beaumont - Trustee Louise has worked in social care for more than 30 years. She is currently the Director of Quality and Care for a social care charity in Sheffield. "I was looking to support a local charity with a strong purpose and person-centred values. When this opportunity came along I was drawn to the passion and dedication of Bluebell Wood. "I am keen to be an active trustee and support the organisation in its journey. The amazing work that is happening everyday by the wonderful team is something that I am excited about learning more about." Richard Simpson - Trustee Richard has over 25 years of finance experience across private, education, public and charity sectors and currently works as Head of Finance & Commercial for a regulatory body. "Living locally to the hospice, I have been struck by the good reputation Bluebell Wood has, and the importance of the support it provides to children, young people and families. Having myself reported to and worked alongside Trustees and Boards for many years, I hoped that I could bring that, and my finance experience, to support such a vital charity in its next stage of development." Cath Winfield - Trustee Cath Winfield is a leadership and personal development coach with 30 plus years experience. She began her career with 20 years in local government, before establishing ‘Make That Change Consultancy/Coaching Solutions’ and working within the private and educational sectors. She has a strong foundation in organisational and leadership development and strategic change. It was as an independent consultant that Cath first came into contact with Bluebell Wood. ‘I believe that my involvement with Bluebell Wood over several years demonstrates my commitment to supporting this very special organisation. I very much hope that my background means that I can contribute meaningfully to your success and agenda from the outset.’ Dr Josh Wright - Trustee Dr Josh Wright is a recently retired haematologist. He trained in Sheffield and worked at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) as a Consultant specialising in lymphoma and inherited red cell diseases. He held a Clinical directors post for a specialty grouping at STH and was President of the British Society for Haematology 2022-2024. Although no longer practicing in the NHS, he continues to be involved with haematology and leads a project developing haematology skills in Zambia. In his newly discovered free time he is a keen sailor and has been (trying) to restore a yacht, which is even older that he is, back to its former glory. He has always admired the work of Bluebell Wood Hospice and is delighted to be joining the board. Jo Snell - Trustee Jo has over 18 years of senior leadership experience in the charity sector, including 15 years as Chief Executive of Bransby Horses, an equine welfare charity based in Lincolnshire. With a background in accountancy, she combines strong financial expertise with a deep commitment to making a meaningful difference. Throughout her career, Jo has led significant change to strengthen impact and organisational resilience, including growing income, improving efficiency, and ensuring services remain sustainable for the long term. Working closely with Boards of Trustees, she has developed a collaborative and open approach to governance, helping to shape long-term strategy while maintaining a thoughtful approach to risk and compliance. She is passionate about building positive, empowered teams and believes strongly that the best outcomes are achieved through working together. Jo is particularly motivated by the work of children’s hospices and the compassionate, life-changing support they provide at times when it is most needed.
