Events usually take place on weekends and bank holidays. About this role: Haven't got lots of free time but fancy volunteering at occasional events for a brilliant cause? We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to help at events organised by the Bluebell Wood fundraising team. It costs £6.7 million a year to run the hospice, so event volunteers play a key role in helping to raise vital funds so we can continue to be there for families who need us. “The staff at Bluebell Wood are so friendly, positive and welcoming. You might be interested in helping with some of these areas: Representing Bluebell Wood at fundraising events Being a warm, welcoming face to member of the public at these events Selling Bluebell Wood merchandise Running games and activities Marshalling at fun runs and races Bucket collecting Dressing up as our mascot - George the dog! Please note: For volunteers aged 16-17 years old: In line with the Code of Fundraising Practice, you will not be solely responsible for handling cash, as part of your volunteering role. If volunteering as a marshal, you will only be asked to do so in pedestrianised areas involving no traffic management. General Bluebell Wood volunteers are asked to: Be a minimum of 16 years of age. Attend induction and any routine training. Abide by Bluebell Wood policies and guidance, including our Health & Safety policy. Co-operate and liaise with colleagues. Act in a professional manner at all times.
