All Stars Ice Hockey match with team Bluebell Wood! Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of grit, teamwork and ice-cold action as Team Bluebell returns to Ice Sheffield on the 25 – 26 July for the ultimate ice hockey showdown. This isn’t your typical hockey match... Across two action‑packed days, charity teams from across the UK will go head‑to‑head in a fast‑paced, hard‑fought tournament (and honestly, we’re exhausted just thinking about it!) Meet Team Bluebell! Made up of 22 players from across the UK, Team Bluebell brings together people of all abilities, united by one goal: lacing up their skates to support Bluebell Wood and the families we care for. Among them is Ryan, a Bluebell Wood Support Worker, who will be stepping onto the ice for his very first hockey game - with absolutely zero previous playing experience. Ryan told us: "Since starting at Bluebell there’s been a poster at the entrance featuring a Bluebell Wood ice hockey team, and as a big fan of the sport it really intrigued me. “When I looked into it, it was part of a charity event called the UK Charity AllStars, so when the organisers announced they were returning to Sheffield in July 2026, I jumped at putting in and application, confessing that even though I have no experience playing hockey, I did work for Bluebell Wood as a support worker. “On a personal note, I’m really excited to take part in a sport I love, in front of my son, my family and my friends. Doing it for Bluebell is the cherry on the cake. (I’m also looking forward to my holiday in Spain a week and half week after the event to nurse my sure to be achy muscles and bones and bruises)” We’re incredibly proud of Ryan and can’t wait to see him hit the ice. His passion for the sport and his unwavering support for Bluebell families already makes him player of the match in our eyes! You can support Ryan’s fundraising via his JustGiving page here.
